Friendship doesn’t know the borders
Let me to share some of my feelings from our project with you.
Apart from the basic aims of the project, during all the meetings we participated in, I was impressed by development of mutual civic understanding and tolerance towards each other. The pupils were able to present their own ideas as well as to accept new impulses from the environment. During the meetings they found themselves in specific situations where their personalities proved as well as their character qualities and they were able to evaluate the situations right. The project meetings were not just ordinary meetings. I am sure. The fact, that the pupils are still in touch via computers and that they plan to meet during the summer holidays shows that I am right.
As the final meeting of our project, we visited Slovakia from May 13th to 17th. Our Slovakian colleagues had prepared a lot of really appealing activities to help improve the communication between all of us.
In October we celebrated the second meeting of the project. It was in Seville, Spain, and we will always remeber the wonderful time we spent.
The first meeting of our project has taken place from June 17th to 20th. Three really intense days during which we have done lots of activities, visited amazing places and -above all- spent much time together, sharing our points of view about aspects related to our Arts project and many other things of common interest.
We were really lucky that during our trip to Turkey took place the ceremonies to celebrate the National Day of Turkey. Hundreds of students coming from all the state schools of the Council of Seryk rehearsed for a month in order to give a good spectacle to the audience. They danced traditional Turkish dances, and showed their skills at different sports. The highlight of the ceremony happened when all the students joined together in the middle of the stadium, drawing a heart shape, and a banner with the image of Mustafa Kemal (The Pather of the Turkish) was released.
Definitely, one of the highlights of our visit to Turkey was the rafting tour through the river Koprucay. Really good fun, amazing scenery and the good organization of the activity made that the one hour trip was worth it. Many of the students and teachers had to summon up courage to overcome their fear to the brave waters, but in the end, everyone dared to get into the boats and did the whole tour.
